Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. In her early years, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. When she was 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes in acting, singing as well as dancing. Her performances had been in numerous Stagecoach and school productions by the time she was ten years old. The casting process began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions they and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut on screen came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in 2001. It was also one of the top-rated films of 2001. Its opening days and weekends of the sales were record breaking. The critics were impressed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British paper, called Emma's acting "amazing". Emma got five nominations in recognition of her exceptional performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress in the Film.
